Unnamed Character: Where do you worship?
Story
Out of prison, mobster Dwight «The General» Manfred is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a group of unlikely characters. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. Dwight and the #x27;General' Manfred: I don’t really go to church. The opening credits sequence shows a variety of photographic and painted images, as well as Oklahoma landmarks, superimposed on the New York City landscape: the «Touch the Clouds» statue of Sioux Indian chief; he wears a War Bonnet and Bone Choker (chest plate) attached to the Brooklyn Bridge Gold Digger statue atop the Statue of Liberty.

There are several numbered «Avenues» in the borough of Manhattan in New York City; which are crisscrossed by smaller numbered streets. I watched it out of curiosity, not expecting much, just surprised to see Stallone in a TV series. You can feel the tension in the scenes and it’s also quite realistic for what the plot requires. I wouldn’t say it’s funny, but there are some funny scenes where Dwight (Stallone) comes out of 25 years in prison and isn’t fully integrated into the way the world works now; so I think the sudden transition for him will create some interesting obstacles for us as well.
humor and violence
I’m glad someone explained to him how to use Uber, it was fun while it lasted. It’s a pretty clever script, but not in a tense and witty way that gives you hope. Stallone is obviously very present, but the rest of the cast seems really great. The series really feels like you took the gangsters made for the movie from the early 90s and brought them into 2022.
I went in with no high expectations
I thought it would be a throwaway show, like some of the recent Stallone movies are; It mostly relies on its name and performances alone, but Taylor Sheridan does a good job of writing here, worthy of Stallone’s performances. I think it will be fun to watch the macho Stallone build a criminal empire from scratch in the middle of Tulsa. I love how it feels like a western at times despite being a mobster. I think the show can be watched and then piqued and people will ask me why they’ve never seen it before because I haven’t seen that much hype from Paramount.
, but judging by the premiere, it could be a really interesting watch
If it keeps up the good work, it’ll be great; if it gets better, it’ll be great. I’ll add a rating as more episodes come out and update if anything drastically changes about the show.
