Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE FREAK follows Karoline (Vic Carmen Sonne), a young factory worker as she struggles to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When he finds himself unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, he meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency that helps mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children.
