Land grabs threaten to destroy the declining dynasty

Story

When the massive Lawson cattle station lacks an heir, Australia’s rival factions see a chance to take control. The series was filmed across the Northern Territory and South Australia in locations so remote they’re barely inhabited, let alone shown on screen.

This show is packed with incredible talent and the setting is beautiful

Locations include Kakadu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with special permission from the traditional owners, and Tipperary Station, a real cattle station so big it has its own airfield and school. The plot is believable and easy to follow, but the characters are hard to love.

It was very difficult to root for anyone

It wasn’t until episode 5 that any of them showed signs of redemption. The whole premise of the show is one tragedy after another.

There is a huge imbalance between hope and despair

Episode 5 brings a reunion of sorts and then, bam, more tragedy. There are only 6 episodes and maybe episode 6 is the one that ties it all together but honestly I was so depressed after the first 5 episodes that I couldn’t take it anymore.

For me it was not an enjoyable movie at all

I only stuck with it until the end because I am a fan of some of the actors and actresses.
