Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for the workers (men’s camps), assemble the excavation machinery, and drill the well itself, especially in remote locations. They are also part fixer, problem solver, and mediator..

This is really fun, notwithstanding some characters that are hilarious but clearly fit this series

Well, I didn’t know what to expect from it because Taylor Sheridan either makes an interesting and entertaining series or a disaster like the Yellowstone spinoff starring Harrison Ford called 1923. Billy Bob Thornton is an excellent choice for this role, the character is witty and interesting and completely different from most characters in today’s shows and movies, which is refreshing. Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, is the character we needed and the show is fun, no pretentious nonsense, at least for now.

It is the dialogues that make the series interesting

His family, daughter and ex-wife are hilarious, his relationship with his daughter is a little bizarre but he himself is sometimes shocked by it as we can see from his reactions. His ex-wife, played by Ali Larter, is a pure parody but it works and fits the plot perfectly. Unlike most of what the «entertainment industry» serves us today, it’s actually fun.

At the moment it has a lot of potential, let’s hope it moves in the right direction

The cinematography is good and the soundtrack is excellent and fits the plot and atmosphere of the series perfectly. It remains to be seen how the characters develop, including those played by Demi Moore, Jon Hamm and Jacob Lofland, who plays Cooper Norris, Tommy Norris’ son. The cast is pretty good, the actors are obviously having fun and you can tell, which makes the series even better.
