In their search for answers, the children uncover many extraordinary mysteries
Story
In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. Steve Perry, former lead singer of Journey, said that Stranger Things season 4 remix of Journey’s 1980s smash hit «Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)». did pretty much what he originally wanted done in the 1980s, but lacked the technology. Perry was so impressed that he even helped create a remix. Many episodes show people «interrupting»; someone is talking on a two-way radio or CB – that is, one person is talking/transmitting and the other person is transmitting to interrupt them, and the other person hears this interruption and stops transmitting. This has been done several times through children’s CB radios and radios used by the police.
Eleven: Friends Don’t Lie
Those radios – the CB and police radios of that era from the show – don’t work like that. If you’re sending and someone else is transmitting, you won’t hear them. Stranger Things’ opening titles and fonts mimic the brightness and look of the opening credits of the 1980s TV series. On FoundFlix: Stranger Things (2016) Everything Explained + Season 2 Clues (2016). Stranger Things (Title Sequence & End Credits Theme) Written & performed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein. I think a lot of people have said a lot of things about all the movie and TV references this series has and how it recreates the 80’s in all its vices and glamour.
I won’t add it
With the release of season two, I’d just like to say that both seasons are very different animals. Think of it as the difference between the original Aliens and the Aliens sequel: where the first season was more about the unknown and unseen horrors and the mystery behind the back story, the second has more in-your-face action and horror with character. development arcs that feel nice but sometimes drag the series down a bit. Therefore, a fan of the series should probably watch the second season as a separate piece of fiction rather than a true sequel. first season in tone and spirit. The writers are moving the story forward and we are getting some very good entertainment, but the new season has to be judged on its own merits.
Season 1 was heavily inspired by supernatural horror like Poltergeist
EDIT: Season 3 proved to be a huge shift in tone for the show. Maybe it’s really hard to keep a secret if most of the «world» of Stranger Things has already revealed many of its secrets, but the overall «feeling»; the series took a different turn. Maybe the writers just ran out of 80' tear off templates. Season 2 took many cues from the "Enduring Traits" like "Gremlins" or «Aliens». Season 3 now uses 80' Zombie movies and low-budget gore with a dash of spy comedy (and fight scenes that feel straight out of Die Hard). All those genres didn’t get along very well in the 80s.
Both work separately but not together
and this strange cocktail is not really working today. That’s not to say that Season 3 is bad. It simply builds on characters that were created in previous seasons that used very different 80' story elements and tropes. It’s almost like seeing Darth Vader in an Indiana Jones movie. Basically, Season 3 is an overly transparent attempt to tap into a new field of nostalgia, but it doesn’t work in the context of the previous seasons. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are the stuff of science fiction.
